This position is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production and other plant machinery, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Job Duties Include:
Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, controls, meters, and sensor hardware Read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic Assist in the identification of design enhancements that can be made to improve equipment reliability while working with vendors and engineering to implement these changes Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in machines using soldering equipment and hand tools.
Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment Report broken/inoperable/unsafe equipment to shift supervisor, maintenance manager, and/or plant engineer and take immediate corrective action if warranted Guide and assist maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs Maintain ongoing necessary/required training, certifications and education Comply with company rules and policies including GMP's and PPE, and adherence to SOPs Institute the direction and goals of the Maintenance Manager to maintain the safety, efficiency, and productivity of equipment and plant operations Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner Responsible for food safety and quality Other tasks as assigned To be considered for this position:
Two year technical degree or equivalent certification Minimum eight years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic Minimum three years' experience in Welding, PLC, Preventative Maintenance, and Fabrication Experience wiring 480V and 208V motors; and programming settings on the VFD's for these motors Knowledge of in-house equipment and machinery Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting with a strong understanding of AC and DC voltages and mechanical power transmission systems Proficiency in reading blue prints and electrical schematics Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines on short notice Effective written/oral communication skills and inter-personal skills Critical thinking and problem solving skills Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Knowledge of OSHA regulations Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required (including some weekends) Regular and reliable attendance EOE, M/F/D/V Job Type:
